How Injuries Really Develop

Cold weather, disrupted routines, and more time sitting can leave many people starting January with:

  • Stiff or sore knees
  • A grumbling hip
  • Tight or aching backs
  • Shoulder niggles
  • Early plantar fascia pain
  • Reactive or tight Achilles tendons

That sense your body “isn’t moving like it used to”

Our most important message this year: If something doesn’t feel right, come and see us early.

Small niggles are far easier to resolve early on than injuries that have been left for months while the body compensates and adapts.

Most injuries don’t happen suddenly. They’re usually the final chapter of a longer story:

  • A small imbalance develops

  • Training or load increases

  • One side works harder

  • The weaker side becomes irritated

  • Movement patterns change

  • A joint becomes overloaded

  • Pain appears - weeks or months later

If the root cause isn’t addressed, the cycle repeats.

Our biomechanical screening is designed to break that cycle early.

Research and clinical experience consistently show: The more asymmetrical you are, the more your body compensates - and the more your joints pay the price over time.

Small differences are normal. Large asymmetries are a warning sign.

Whether you’re coming to us because a problem has already developed, you’re training for an event and want to avoid a repeat of an old issue, you’d like advice, a baseline gym test, or a more directed plan - this approach allows us to guide you clearly and confidently.
