Ask any gardener and they will tell you it “makes them feel good”

Gardening can help you feel happier, healthier and more confident.

Endorphins in our body are released when we do any kind physical exercise, these are our feel good hormones. Gardening releases the wellbeing feeling in us, along with a sense of achievement, pride, and self-satisfaction.

If you are unhappy, and don’t want to face the world, it can encourage you to get out of the house and take in some sunshine and fresh air. Tending to your plants can make you feel needed and responsible for nurturing something, giving you a sense of worth.

You can share your knowledge or help anyone who has a disability to maintain their garden. Teaching anyone the things you know about plants and flowers, can help pass on that feel good sensation.

Joining a gardening group or allotment society gives a social connection, if you are feeling lonely.

It appeals to all ages young and old can be done almost anywhere.

In short gardening can help you “make you feel good too”
